Frequently Asked Questions
What materials are used in the construction of the PES capsule filter?
The filter membrane is made of Hydrophilic Polyethersulfone (PES). The inner/outer cages and capsule housing are constructed from Polypropylene (PP), and the capsule vent O-ring is made of Silicone Rubber.
What are the recommended sterilization methods for the Challenge Pore® PES filter?
The filter can be sterilized using high-temperature steam sterilization at 121 °C for 30 minutes (up to 5 cycles) or via gamma irradiation within the range of 25–40 kGy.
What are the maximum operating limits for temperature and differential pressure?
The maximum operating temperature is 80℃. The maximum differential pressure limit is 0.55 MPa at 25℃ and 0.1 MPa at 80℃.
Does this filter meet biosafety and biocompatibility standards?
Yes, it features endotoxin levels below 0.25 EU/mL. It is fully compliant with USP <87> Non-cytotoxic standards and meets the USP <88> Class VI plastic biocompatibility requirements.
What sizes are available for the Disc and Capsule filters?
The Disc Filter is available in D50 with a filtration area of 20cm². The Capsule Filter is available in various sizes: 01 (0.075m²), 02 (0.14m²), 04 (0.25m²), 05 (0.34m²), and 10 (0.68m²).
